AGGRESSIVE RATE
NEGOTIATION
We treat every broker call as an opportunity to maximize your revenue-per-mile. We counter lowball offers, evaluate spot market averages, and recover detention, layover, and TONU fees.
NEVER SETTLE FOR THE LOAD BOARD STARTING RATE
Brokers post freight with built-in margins, expecting carriers to accept bottom-tier pricing. At Quantum Logistics, our dispatchers know true market averages, lane outbound-to-inbound ratios, and diesel price indices. When we call a broker, we negotiate with leverage.
We also protect you from unpaid warehouse waiting time. When a shipper or receiver keeps your truck waiting past the 2-hour standard grace period, our team logs timestamps and secures signed detention rate confirmations before you roll out of the gate.
OUR NEGOTIATION PLAYBOOK:
- Market Average Benchmarking: Real-time 7-day and 15-day rate index checks across DAT and Truckstop before placing the call.
- Detention & Layover Recovery: We enforce $50–$75/hr detention and $250–$350+ layover compensation on all delayed loads.
- Truck Order Not Used (TONU): If a broker cancels after dispatch or at the shipper, we secure $150–$250 TONU pay immediately.
- Accessorials & Extra Drops: Extra stop pay, hazardous material handling fees, and tarp fees negotiated upfront on the initial rate con.

RATE NEGOTIATION FAQ
We analyze historical lane averages, current load-to-truck ratios in the origin market, destination reload viability, and your personal operating cost per mile.
We alert the broker at the 1-hour mark and 2-hour mark with signed receiver in/out stamps. If they push back, we escalate to broker management and factoring dispute desks.
